Who the hell is inkiiphoto?
Be Safe. Be Well. And Godspeed.@inkiiphoto is a small photography project by In Kim (another amateur photographer with an amateur idea).
The name inkii actually started long before the photography project. Years ago, I used the online alias inkiiz for a video game avatar — a name that stuck around through different games and internet corners. Over time, the name shortened naturally to inkii, and eventually found its way into this photography project.
The word itself also has a playful connection to the Korean term 인기 (in-gi), which loosely translates to “popularity or recognition.” The name isn’t meant to imply fame, but rather a quiet hope that good things have a way of finding their audience over time.
@inkiiphoto began after a trip to Korea/Japan with my brother and sister-in-law (Shin and Kimberly), where the idea of omakase — chef’s choice — left a lasting impression. Instead of offering endless options, the project focuses on carefully selecting a small number of photographs and producing them in limited quantity. With the idea impressed on me by my brother and sister, the goal is simple — thoughtful photographs, produced carefully, and shared honestly.
@inkiiphoto never intends to be a large studio or commercial brand. It’s just a personal project from someone who enjoys noticing small moments and turning them into timeless classics worth sharing with the people I love (near and far).
I hope you are able to appreciate my thoughts, vision and enjoyment on giving back to you something I’m proud of that captured a keepsake of my time in Japan.
Thanks for your love, care and support! Godspeed!
